Fabulous Art Deco design and excellent workmanship make this Venetian version of the cheval mirror a must-have. The materials used are extra-clear Venetian glass, brass, and shagreen, or stingray leather. As you can see, there's a handy lidded compartment in the centre.
The latter was very popular during the art deco period of the 1920s and 1930s. It is much more durable than most other types of hide, and its source is not under threat of extinction.
