The technique was developed as long ago as the 13th century, believe it or not, and it is still widely used today. Molten glass is poured on to a slab, where it is sprinkled with different substances and colours to create a different look or texture. For example, we like to have crushed glass sprinked over the glass to make it glitter in a lot of our custom work. The glass is allowed to cool before it is cut and shaped. Gold has been added here.
