52 cm tall Venetian cristallo glass table light with gold frame
A delightfully pretty clear Murano crystal table lantern with a ‘balloton’ finish and twisted gold wire frame, made entirely by hand on the famous glass-making island of Murano in the Venetian lagoon.In the Venetian tradition, its's very generously sized indeed, measuring just over half a metre in height.
The hot blown-glass is stamped with a special ‘balloton’ mould by the Muranese glass-master to create a raised criss-cross pattern. This is a very typical Murano glass-making design which dates back as far as the fifteenth and sixteenth centuries.
