A beautiful traditional amber Venetian Baloton glass flush-fitting ceiling lantern, entirely hand-made in Venice.
The cage is first fashioned from wire, and the glass-master then blows the molten glass into the frame where it expands into the lovely curved shape you see here. The hot glass is then stamped into a mould to create a raised criss-cross pattern on the glass, typical of centuries-old Venetian glass-making design.
Clear glass is also available.
