80 cm piastra glass chandelier in modernist mid-century style [1640]

Title
The technique for making piastra glass dates back as far as the thirteenth century, and is very labour intensive, as the molten glass is formed into the required shape by hand, using iron tools, and then left to cool. The method may be traditional but the design and style of the gorgeous chandelier are pure 1970s mid-century modernist.

It belongs to our own private collection of hand-crafted mid-century lighting and chandeliers based on historical designs by Venini, Vistosi and Mazzega, and rendered in Murano glass. We therefore have free rein when it comes to size and colour. You will benefit from precise shapes and brand new metal fittings, as well as custom finishes. One of the most important pluses is that you can order as many as you like.

The price quoted here is for the eighty centimetre(ø) chandelier with clear Murano glass diffuser. Please tell us at our online checkout if you would like a 24 carat gold-plated frame or a chrome-plated frame.

Please get in touch with us if you would like to talk about custom colour and size options.
