5 light Bouillotte-style chandelier with shades

A beautiful 5 light chandelier in the "Bouillotte" style with a brass oxide frame and hand-painted shades.

The name “Bouillotte” comes from a popular 18th century French card game of the same name. The original lamps featured a shade which could be raised or lowered on two posts, to protect the players’ eyes from the bright candlelight, as the game progressed, late into the night. This elegant chandelier is a modification of these classic lamps.
