Bronze Bouillotte-style golden table light with painted shade

A stylish bronze coloured Bouillotte-style table light with a cast metal frame and a fabulous painted lampshade.

The name “Bouillotte” comes from a popular 18th century French card game of the same name. The original lamps featured a shade which could be raised or lowered on two posts, to protect the players’ eyes from the bright candlelight, as the game progressed, late into the night. These splendid lamps are also known as “tole” lamps.
