Amber Murano glass table lamp with bronze base

A beautiful traditional amber Venetian glass table lamp with a steel wire casing and bronze coloured base, entirely hand-crafted on the famous glass-making island of Murano in the Venice lagoon.

The mould for this beautiful wall lantern is first fashioned from steel wire. The glass-master then blows the molten glass into the frame where it expands into the lovely curved shape you see here. The interiors of the glass diffusers are etched to create a textured finish, before they are allowed to cool.

This piece may bear some tiny imperfection that will attest to its having been fashioned entirely by hand, thus increasing its value and uniqueness. It is based on a historical design and has been crafted using purely traditional techniques.
